Welcome to 2010 and Sensational Six - an outstanding class of Year 5 & 6 students at Roslyn School.
We have had a great start to the year, learning about our new classmates, our class expectations and the exciting learning ahead of us.
It's only 7 days into Term 1, and we have started our learning journey exploring a few new thinking tools and strategies that will help us deepen our understanding of the world around us.
We have investigated the healthy snacks which are bought into class every day for 'Snacktivate' (our snack and activity time at 10am), and have graphed this data. We are about to explore 'Xcel', spreadsheets and graphs, as a new and different way to present the same data. Room 6 will be comparing the snacks we bought to school during the first week of term, with those bought by the students in Room 3. It will be interesting to look at any patterns and trends in the data collected.
Monday afternoon was pretty special when we got to meet our buddies from Room 16. They are a pretty cute bunch and we are going to have some stunning times together this term. Mrs Gurney & Miss Cooper have planned some great art, cooking, Spanish, ICT and sport activites for us to do this term. Will they top that in Term 2?!
Of course, we have had heads down doing the necessary assessments for Mrs Gurney to find out what we know (or don't know), so she can plan our upcoming learning.
